We were sitting around gabbing, like us girls tend to do. And conversation turned to an interesting topic to make a week out of. You guys like doing those, right?

We hemmed and we hawed. And we looked at the things you’ve all contributed thus far, and all the things that are important to this community. And that’s when it dawned on us. We’ve never done a series on sexual health! I mean, come on! How could we not have covered sexual health yet?!

So! We’re gonna do something with this writing series we haven’t yet done. There will be two parts to it. I know. That sounds confusing. Keep reading!

For the first part, we’re looking for posts from you guys about your personal experiences and opinions on sexual health. What your first OBGYN visit was like. How you handled your first prostate exam. Does a mammogram really hurt? Tell us all about it. These posts don’t require a pitch and can be emailed directly to edencafeadmin[at]gmail[dot]com with “Sex Ed Week” at the top of the document.

The next part requires a pitch, and possibly some research. We’re looking for in depth, informative posts on various topics that play a huge role in being sexually healthy from people who’ve had a lot of experience with them. These are a few we’re specifically looking for:

  • Sexual Health Myths
  • Getting Tested (Importance and Benefits)
  • Clinic Visits
  • Protection
  • Birth Control
  • Sexually Transmitted Diseases
  • Toy Safety (Materials & Sterilization)
  • Risky Behaviors
  • Morning After Pill (Plan B v. Abortion)
  • Women’s Sexual Health
  • Men’s Sexual Health (1st Prostate Exam)
  • LGBT’s Sexual Health
  • Senior’s Sexual Health
  • Various Kink Safety Topics (Impact Play, Gag Safety, Bondage Safety, Suspension Safety)

If you’re interested in working on a post for one of these topics, or one you think should be included that isn’t listed, send your pitch to me (Rayne) at rayne[at]edenfantasys[dot]com. Please include the topic you want to cover, a brief description of your experience (which can be as minor as using a condom every time you have sex, if condoms are the topic you’re pitching), and how you plan to cover it, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Topics that are crossed out are already in progress.

If you haven’t posted with us before, give us an author name you’d like to post under, and a short bio if you’d like to have one on Eden Cafe. If you have a personal site you don’t mind us linking to, or a Twitter name we can use when we tweet about your post, include that too!

As always, you’ll get a gift card for your contribution. And we (meaning the whole Eden Cafe contributing crew) will get to say we taught people something! How cool is that? Can’t wait to hear from you!

Good question! Lol. I’d have responded sooner, but we were still deciding on an answer!

We’re going to run this series from 4/25-30, so we’re asking that your submissions be in by the middle of next week (4/20ish) at the absolute latest.
