Lovemoiselle, makers of fine ceramic toys of both the vibrating (yes, vibrating ceramic!) and non vibrating kind. This week, I’m reviewing the Aveline, which is a non vibrating ceramic dildo.
The Aveline, like all Lovemoiselle pieces, is simple and elegant. Pretty, but not over the top.
The basics: The Aveline is an off white, creamy looking ceramic with an aqua blue, vine-like floral design along one side. The shaft is a curvy 8 inches in length with 7 of those inches being insertable. I guess they assume an inch to hold on to for thrusting. The ceramic is completely smooth, sleek yet somehow seems more substantial than glass; rather like holding a coffee mug vs a drinking glass. And it’s large. Not only in length but it’s nearly 1.5 inch diameter that carries down the entire shaft, along the curves, with no real taper other than the tip, makes it seem even more substantial than most.
In use: The Aveline is probably not a good beginner toy in that respect. It may seem intimidating. It’s utter smoothness, 0n the other hand, makes it almost ideal as a beginner toy. It needs little lube and inserts quite easily because there is no friction, no resistance. It all comes down to how much size you’re looking for. If you want something the size of a single finger, this isn’t going to work for you.
At the same time, it’s enough for even advanced users as it’s girth is filling, if not a stretch. It may not feel like the biggest toy EVAH, but it should be enough to satisfy and fill you up.
The curvy shaft feels like waves as you thrust – waves of cool, sleek pleasure – while the uptilted head of the shaft nudges and rubs the g-spot with amazing accuracy.
Gently warm it up or cool it down with running water for even more sensation.
Care and cleaning: Ceramic is a non porous material so it can easily be shared. Simply wipe it down with a ten percent bleach solution to sanitize between partners or orifices. I wouldn’t recommend boiling or the dishwasher for this one as it is plugged at one end with what appears to be a silicone plug. I’m not sure if that plug leaks or not and wasn’t willing to test it. It IS in there quite well; I couldn’t pull it out without ripping it no matter how hard I tried. You can also wash the Aveline with plain soap and water, toy cleaner or wipes if you’re not going to be sharing; lube and other miscellaneous goo wipes right off.
The Aveline comes in a lovely box with a transparent window in the front and a thick foam insert to keep the toy tightly in place which can easily be used for storage. If you choose not to keep the box, this piece also comes with a velvety, though unpadded, black drawstring bag.
Any lube can be used so go with whatever you prefer. I like silicone as just the smallest dab will have the Aveline gliding along in a most heavenly manner and I never need to reapply.
