If you’re anything like myself, you’ve harvested quite the crop of sex toys in your home. It gets harder and harder to hide them as the days pass by. Your drawers become full, and under the bed is not an option anymore. You’re even using shoe boxes, but those just take up more space! So what are some creative ways to hide and store toys, and what can you do to reduce the clutter? Your answers are right in this article!

1.  Get rid of what you don’t need – You do it with just about everything else in your home, such as shoes and clothes. Take some time to sit down and think about what toys you don’t really use anymore. My rule is that if it hasn’t been used in the last two months, it’s probably time to either start using it again or throw it away.

Yes, I know – It’s hard to throw away something that you bought. That’s why you need to also think about why you haven’t used this toy lately. Have you found that it just isn’t getting the job done anymore, or have you run out of batteries and are too lazy to go buy more? If your toy simply isn’t satisfying you, set it aside in a pile and you can either throw it away, or follow my next step.

2.  So long as you have no STD’s, you can think about possibly re-gifting your toy to family or friends who are willing to receive a used toy. You should NEVER re-gift porous toys unless you have used them with condoms, and even then, I personally wouldn’t. But hey, if you roll that way, let it go! Re-gifting is a great way to clean out your closet and make use of toys that are in good condition and still work well.

If you’re not sure how to “bring it up,” just try telling your friend that you have this really cool sex toy that you didn’t use that much, and explain to them that it is non-porous and can be re-used safely. Also let them know about the qualities of the toy, and tell them that you don’t want to waste your hard earned money.

Maybe you have a few new toys that are a lot like others you own – these are PERFECT for easy re-gifting. Glass toys are especially great because even if they’ve been used, they don’t absorb any bodily fluids. Give your glass toy a scrub-down and it’s ready to be given away to someone new!

3.  Invest in proper toy storage – There are several stores where you can find quality toy boxes, including EdenFantasys. If you’re simply looking to disguise a toy, think about investing in the ToiTissue container by ToiBocks. It’s disguised, and fully useful, as an actual tissue box, except for the fact that you can hide your toys safely underneath the tissues.

Maybe you need something a little larger that is suitable for storage at home, and for travel. If this is your case, check out the Devine Playchest by DevineToys. It looks like a large makeup box/suitcase, and can easily fit under a bed or in the back of a closet, without being extremely noticeable. It also easily locks, which is great if you have nosy family members lurking around your home.

You can also build toy storage on your own as a fun project, or buy toy storage from stores local to you, such as Wal-Mart or Target. Items such as safes, trunks, or plastic shoe boxes work equally as well. The more “normal” your toy storage looks, the less likely peepers are to peep. Nobody would expect a dildo to be underneath some tissues, or a whole set of BDSM whips and floggers to be inside of a walk-in safe!

Note: Keep in mind, when it comes to buying sex toy storage, bigger is often better. The bigger you buy, the more you have potential to fit inside… And the less toys you have lying around your home!

4.  Get good at hiding things – If you’re low on cash, and need quick places to hide your toys, there are tons of places around your house that are perfect for hiding toys. First off, the bathroom. A lot of toys blend right in as cosmetic items such as lipsticks, mascara bottles, etc. If you have some room in your makeup box, throw a few items in for safekeeping.

Then there’s the kitchen. It sounds a little risky, but even I have those very high cupboards that never get opened. I actually store all of my lubricants in my kitchen cupboards because my roommate never looks there. She has never once found my stash, to this very day, and we’ve been living together for three years now!

You can also utilize furniture and objects around your home. Pillows with zippers can easily disguise a dildo or two inside, and copying the tissue box idea is never a bad idea. If your dresser has a space underneath, start putting a few vibrators or dildos underneath. Bullets and mini-vibes can easily be hidden in an ugly old pair of socks that no one wants to wear anymore. Be creative and think backwards!

5.  Use your toys as other objects – If you are really getting desperate, and you have tried all of the above with no success, this is a great idea for a quick fix. A lot of toys look like other objects, and can easily be mistaken for them. Have a pair of remote-controlled bullets that look a lot like an MP3 player? Stick them in your MP3 case and no one will ever suspect a thing.

A lot of glass dildos and probes have flat glass bases. Disguise a discreet dildo as a fancy bracelet holder, or art to display above the mantle. Glass toys are already a work of art, so you technically aren’t fooling anyone with that excuse.

My roommate has been using a small-scale silicone dildo as a door stopper for about a year now. She’s actually stopped using it altogether, and we consider it to be the actual door stopper. It has a suction cupped base, and looks nothing like a penis, so it blends right in to our apartment.

6.  Toy Donations – It may sound gross, or it may sound awesome – either way,  these places are out there. Simply search “Sex Toy Donations” online and you’ll see what I mean. People around the world will accept your unwanted toys for free, and some will even pay cash in return! This is a great way to get your money back and make room for new toys.

Thanks for the advice! My husband and I were just talking about how to dispose of toys that we no longer used so this was super helpful.
