Ahhhh, the Little Chroma.

It looks so simple and unassuming, right?  Vaguely like a pocket flashlight or something.  And it’s only got one speed.  Runs on only one AA battery.

It can’t be “all that”, can it?

Oh yes.  Yes, it can.  It is.

Now I’m not going to lie and say the Little Chroma rivals the Hitachi.  It does not.  That would be impossible.  But it does rival most bullet vibes.  I’m holding one of those little silver bullet things in one hand and the Little Chroma in the other as I type — well, ok, not really as I type but just before I typed I was —  and the vibrations are about the same.  They’re different; the Little Chroma is way less buzzy and high pitched, it’s deeper.  I wouldn’t say thuddy vibrations because I’m not sure you can get those with metal but it’s definitely less annoying feeling than the mini bullet and just as powerful in a deeper, more satisfying way.

And the really cool thing is that the Little Chroma, at 5.25 inches long is still small enough to tuck between two bodies or carry in your purse but it’s long enough that you have a bit of control while holding it.  Your fingers aren’t buzzing right off as you use it.  And — and! — it’s length enables you to vary the level of vibration by using different areas of the shaft.  Vibrations are focused in the tip and by using other areas a bit further up the shaft, you can virtually change your “speed” even thought it’s only a one speed toy.  Is that cool or is that cool????

And while the Little Chroma is slim, measuring only 5/8 of an inch in diameter, because of it’s length it can be used for insertion.  It can even be used for anal insertion if you’re crafty.  The battery cover screws off and has two small holes in it designed especially for threading a cord thru them to make a lariat of sorts that you can loop around your wrist or hand as a safety measure if you want to insert it anally.  (I might not recommend this but I have to say it’s cool that Jimmyjane was thinking all out of the box and did their best to make this remain sleek while adding this safety feature.  A flared end would really ruin the toy)

And, because the Little Chroma is anodized aluminum you can even keep it sanitary for use either between partners or between orifices.  Just bleach it — or stick it in the dishwasher or boil it for five minutes or so to sterilize.  Of course, ordinary soap and water can be used, too, if you’re only using it vaginally by yourself.

But, wait…  what?  Boil it?  Dishwash it? But, Carrie Ann, it’s a vibrator, you’ll ruin it.

Ahhhhhh.

This, my friends, is the best feature of the Little Chroma.  First, it’s waterproof (to depths up to ten times deeper than your bathtub!) and has an amazing, thick, almost double o-ring to keep it dry inside.  And second?  It has a replaceable motor.  This amazing motor is shaped and sized exactly like an AA battery and can be removed from the toy to clean it.  So you unscrew, tip out the batttery and motor, replace the cover and clean away!  Once it’s clean and dry, you simply replace the motor and battery and you’re good to go.

The replaceable motor is truly it’s best feature and is totally unique in the world of sex toys.  The Little Chroma is a luxury vibrator and, as such, has a higher end price.  And while it has an amazing, unprecedented three year warranty, we all know that vibrators eventually die, no matter how good they are.  Usually it’s that the motor burns up.  With the Little Chroma, you don’t have to replace your entire pricey sex toy but can order just a replacement motor for — get this! — $20.

I. Love. This.

In reality, I just love this toy in general.  The vibrations are amazingly deep for a metal toy and are, as the manual says, tuned to the resonant frequency of the human body.  So they’re one speed but the right speed.  And quiet, too.  Like, holy shit quiet.

I turned this toy on and held it up and my partner, who was 5 feet away, could not hear it.  At all.

It’s an amazing product from an amazing manufacturer and I’m flabbergasted as to why I haven’t gotten one before now.

Any lube can be used with the Little Chroma, if you find you need lube at all.  I did not.  Also, the initial AA battery comes included with the toy.
