I have found a new love when it comes to silicone lubricants and I call it Dr. Love.

Well.  It calls itself Dr. Love, too.

Dr. Love Silkening Lubricant is like silk in a bottle.

I know, I know.  You hear that all the time. But I’m not exaggerating.  This is the silkiest, least greasy, most amazing lubricant I’ve ever tried.

Let’s start with the basics.  Dr. Love Silkening Lube is:

  • dermatologically certified as safe for and compatible with skin and mucous membranes
  • allergy free/hypoallergenic
  • safe for sensitive skin
  • breathable
  • ultra efficient, long lasting
  • latex compatible
  • free from spermicides
  • free from cyclic silicones
  • free from perfume, oil, grease, preservatives, water, parabens and glycerine
  • tasteless
  • odorless

Dr. Love Silkening Lube contains two ingredients; dimethicone and dimethiconal.  That is all.

In use, it is so silky sleek that it feels luxurious.  It lasts.  And lasts. And lasts.  And lasts.  Especially with female masturbation, toy use and vaginal intercourse.  It is a bit less effective for anal intercourse and for handjobs, but those are the two activities people tend to like a thicker, heavier lube for.

This is a thin lube and while it lasts a long, long ass time it also sort of feels like it’s not there anymore after about five minutes.  I’m not sure how that works.  It’s there.  You still have lube, you still have amazing glide and reduced friction, you still have easy entry and thrusting and rubbing.  But it doesn’t…  feel like it’s there.  It’s like invisible lube!  It’s the oddest yet most wonderful thing I’ve ever experienced when it comes to lube.

Also, the reduced friction thing.  This is probably why it’s not the greatest for hand jobs and butt sex; it reduces friction but doesn’t as totally erase it.  You don’t feel like you have a layer of wet, slidy stuff between your fingers, your toy or your lovers bits and your bits.  You feel, instead, like you’ve become this silky slickness rather than it coating you.

It’s a wonder.  A miracle.

I’m going overboard, aren’t I?  Forgive me.  I’m in love.

Like all silicone lubes it’s not compatible with silicone toys and that’s one of it’s only drawbacks.  I tested it with my Tantus Vamp, on the base, and it left a smoodgy patch, so don’t use it on yours!

It also does feel a bit odd on the hands for a bit after you apply it.  It’s a typical silicone feeling that isn’t greasy but does make you feel slick for awhile.  Whether hands or penises or vaginas, though, it does eventually absorb into the skin and leave it feeling soft.  If you don’t have the patience for that or dislike the feel, soap and warm water will remove it.

Silicone is super for water play, though — tub, shower, spa, pool, you name it.  So it holds up in water and won’t rinse off with just water.  Use soap!  Or enjoy it in the water, knowing it’ll keep you slick even as you get soaked.

I haven’t noticed any staining from this lube.

I have used it in my hair.  (Hey, it’s WAY more pure than those filler filled silicone shine serums!)

I have used it for massage.

And while I would choose something else for both anal and hand jobs just because I those to be a bit more blatantly wet than anything else, this has definitely become my go to, favorite, omg-i-love-it lube.

And with glass sex toys?

Heaven.

I got the 3.4 oz bottle, which has a pump top that locks down when not in use and does not leak.  The bottle itself gets to feeling a bit slick, though, if you get lubed hands all over it.  Simply wash it with soap and water if it bothers you.
