The true dawn of reality television rose virtually with the introduction of television itself. Although networks enabled us to become desensitized to prime time dramas, sitcoms and made for tv movies, from the beginning there was always unscripted, unrehearsed shows with everyday, regular people.
In the late ‘40s and 50’s viewers were graced with Alan Funt’s creation candid camera. A humorous series pitting hidden cameras to a hapless, often oblivious victim to guarantee hijinks ensue with hilarity.
The sixties and seventies emerged a new era of game shows from the Dating Game to the Gong Show and the Newlywed Game. These programs became a threshold staple as viewers tuned in to match their own answers to that of the contestants. It wasn’t until the late seventies that the popularity began to substantially dwindle for the first time.
Producers such as Aaron Spelling began to monopolize the networks with such shows as The Love Boat, Dynasty, Dallas and Knots Landing. When the ‘80’s and 90’s arrived reality tv made a comeback with a new edge on MTV. The concept lured a younger demographic to witness the interaction of twenty something strangers under one household called the Reel World.
George Orwell’s 1984 inspired a watchful eye of the camera in Big Brother. The competition based program sparked a brand new burst of prime time events. Viewers now tuned into everything from Survivor, American Idol, Amazing Race, America’s Next top Model, Dancing with the Stars, The Apprentice and Fear Factor by the millions.
MTV also presented a ‘fly on the wall’ type intrigue with a sneak peek into the day to day celebrity lives. The Osborne’s left us shocked in hysterics. The Anna Nicole show titillated us. Nick and Jessica made us shake our heads in befuddled wonder while Rock of Love with Brett Michaels made every man envy the life style of a modern day musician.
Soon sub categories of Reality based TV dawned a new era. Everything from Dating based ( The Bachelor ), Job searches ( The Apprentice ), Sports ( Ultimate Fighter ), Self Improvement ( The Biggest Loser ), Renovation ( Extreme Makeover ), Social Experiment ( Wife Swap ), Hidden Camera ( Punk’d ), Supernatural & Paranormal ( Ghost Hunters ), were available to a borderline attention deficit disorder audience.
It seemed only natural adult entertainment would wedge itself into the fray. Enter MILF personified Demi Delia. The buxom Sicilian American beauty chooses her xxx performances wisely these days. Her last release was in 2009 and just prior to that she was featuring in a mere handful of titles in the past couple years.
Her reputation for nurturing soon developed into the development of Mommy XXX. The adventures of Ms Delia, and her children Brandi and Chris are captured for thirteen episodes. It is uncertain if a second season will release due to controversial overtones.

Always immensely personable and a sheer delight to speak with, Demi agreed to answer a few questions in Estranged from Friction, When Fantasy Becomes Reality.
Dave Gammon: How is it you’d first gotten involved in the adult entertainment industry?
Demi Delia: I originally started in mainstream back in 91, then I owned and ran tanning salons. I had met Randy Spears; he was a client at my salon in Thousand Oaks. We started dating; a few years later got married and started a production company. I was helping out with everything from writing scripts to art direction and then just for fun we shot a scene together and it’s all history from there.
DG: The newest accolade Mommy xxx seems highly entertaining. Describe the brain- child how this concept came about.
DD: Mommy XXX by Sony Pictures Entertainment and Teru Media began June 22nd (2009) on www.Crackle.com, I was approached by my producers last year in May about doing a show on my life as a real Mom to two teenage kids and a working Adult actress. I think when they met me they were surprised to see how crazy my household actually was. A couple months later I signed a contract and we started filming! Now you’ll have to watch!
DG: Within the cream and scream industry there are as many pop trends as there is with any subculture. There seems to be a definite rise in popularity for MILF and cougar themed titles. What are your views in the increase of popularity with these themed titles?
DD: I think “Milfs” and “Cougars” have always been out there and that guys of all ages have always been attracted to them it just wasn’t filmed until a couple of years ago. I don’t think it will be something that will just pass, I think it’s a discovery that is here to stay. Because no matter what you’re always going to have hot moms and sexy older women and there is definitely a market for that.
DG: What are some of your turn ons, on and off screen? What motivates you to steal the show prior to a scorching scene?
DD: Hmmm….turn ons….I love it when a man smells good (love cologne!), kissing my neck. I think it’s hot when two people just explore each other and take their time. It’s
different on set..(laughs)l. It’s work. It’s rare that I had a connection with the person I was working with.
DG: New web site www.DemiDelia.com launched seems like a Mecca of marvels. What can first time browsers anticipate?
DD: I put a lot of time and thought into my new website. I didn’t want it to be like every other girl out there. I have a great webmaster and we worked closely to create the
design. I will be airing my show “Mommy XXX” on my site along with www.Crackle.com, www.hulu.com and www.YouTube.com . In my members section I will have hot videos and sexy photo shoots, along with bits from my shoots and out- takes from my show. I am also working on my store and I am big on animal rights so I have a donation page for each organization. I am trying to raise awareness to save the animals.
DG: I thank you once again for your gracious hospitality Demi. All the best to you and
good luck.
NOTE: AT TIME OF PRESS- Demi has started a talent agency “Double D Productions” and is over seeing the careers of such xxx stars as Josyln James.

I found some episodes on youtube.. it is quiet entertaining…
Dave i have enjoyed ou writting since you began here what a great idea…where d o find the people to interview? and do you end up or even begin with a persoal relationship with them?
What turns you on???
Dave
Thanks for the support Leona. I used to be in the adult business (perhaps more years ago then I’d care to admit) from the retail perspective. It was at a difficult time in my life, where I was doing a lot of self exploration in every faucet from physically to emotionally, spiritually and financially. At that particular phase I was very rigid in my thinking about sex and sexuality. Working there really helped to broaden my horizons and learn about the industry in general. I soon developed a passion for the business realizing it had therapeutic elements to it as well. I’d figured I could incorporate what I’d learned in social work training and try to promote positive sexual experiences for couples and single people alike. As this passion began to be stoked, kindled and sparked I wanted to get more and more involved and learn more about the business. Whenever a feature starlet was in town promoting her latest endeavors, more times than not featuring at a local gentleman’s club I would make it a point to select any number of my clerks to come along with me to meet them for photo ops, autographs for the store’s wall o’ fame and eventually interviews for a local publication called the Adult Entertainer. It didn’t take long before I was going to conventions, the CES show in Vegas in January, but I ended up leaving rather untimely due to family issues in 2000. Fast forward ten years later I’d felt I still had a lot to say that I’d never had the chance to, so I began exploring erotica in the form of creative writing and was really impressed with the degree of emotion and passion that goes into developing even short stories. So without rambling too much I’d say I try to approach people that have made an impact or impressed me in some manner within the industry and work around it from there. I’ve met some of the coolest, most down to earth people that in many ways have their act together far better than the average joe. And no, no I’ve never had a personal relationship with any one in the business. I do have the most wonderful wife now that is very beautiful in every way conceivable. She’s my constant rock and inspiration. Long winded answer, but hey guess you could say I was full of steam. hahah tnx for responding
